About this role
This remote Senior GIS Software Developer role involves 20% travel on a 6+ month contract to hire. Design, develop, configure, and maintain GIS applications for asset management workflows in the utility industry. Leverage existing vendor and UDC specific frameworks for desktop, web, and mobile device solutions.
Perform standard UI and application extensions along with integrations combining GIS products to customer information systems, enterprise resource planning, outage management, and other utility systems. Deliver enterprise quality work output based on requirement specifications from layout to function. Focus on hands-on coding for Esri platforms, particularly ADMS Outage Maps.
Work with and lead development teams while collaborating directly with UDC product owners and external client stakeholders to define requirements. Emphasize soft skills, problem-solving ability, and client-facing capabilities for success. Prioritize quality code and open, honest communication of development status across UDC products.

Requirements
- Hands-on coding experience for Esri platforms
- Experience with Utility Network (UN)
- Focus on ADMS Outage Maps for utilities
- Gas and electric utility experience preferred; water utility candidates may be considered

- IT background viable with limited utility exposure

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain GIS applications for asset management workflows

- Implement integrations between GIS products and utility systems like CIS, ERP, and OMS
- Work with and lead development teams to design, implement, test, and document technical solutions
- Work directly with product owners and client stakeholders to define requirements and functionality
- Present ideas for system improvements
- Utilize web, desktop, mobile, and GIS industry standards, testing, and quality procedures
- Investigate and resolve identified issues
