As a Geospatial Data Scientist in the boundaries product team, maintain and enhance PostGIS-based polygon data, source and clean data, and support internal projects. Research, scrape, and acquire geographic and postal data sources daily. Perform data cleaning, validation, and integration into the PostGIS database. Integrate pre-existing polygon data or build polygon maps from open addresses, cadastre, buildings, and road networks.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with PostGIS
- Experience with GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS to visualize and process geospatial data
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Geomatics, Geography, Data Science, or Computer Science
- Experience with PostGIS topology
- Competency in Python for data processing and scripting tasks
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
- Familiarity with bash scripting and version control using Git
Responsibilities
- Research, scrape, and acquire geographic and postal data sources
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and integration into PostGIS database
- Integrate pre-existing polygon data or build polygon maps out of available data (e.g., open addresses, cadastre, buildings, road network)
- Insert pre-processed data into a topological model to ensure polygons are perfectly matching, even after simplification
- Collaborate on small-scale internal projects to process and analyze data
- Work closely with Geo Domain experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of data
- Document workflows and maintain detailed process records
