About this role

Parsons is looking for a Field Geophysicist Intern to join the team for summer 2026. You will collect geophysical data to support MMRP investigations and remediation projects. The internship provides knowledge in performing geophysical surveys using various equipment and sensors.

Before field activities, complete a medical physical and review project work plans. In the field, conduct quality control tests, collect digital geophysical data and GPS data, and acquire data using UltraTEM. Monitor daily quality control tests of equipment, document results, troubleshoot sensor issues, and run diagnostic tests.

Work closely with a Project Geophysicist, Site Geophysicist, and Geophysical Team Lead who will mentor you throughout the summer. Expect extensive travel to field sites, 100% time. Fieldwork involves physically demanding tasks, 10-hour days in adverse conditions like cold, hot, wind, dust, and rough terrain.

This role progresses your college career with exposure to the MMRP industry for future decisions. Join the Federal Solutions team delivering services in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental areas. No security clearance required.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in geophysics, geology, or related field curriculum and completed at least one year of studies
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of file transfer/sharing systems
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER online training course before starting (Parsons pays for registration)
  • Extensive travel to field sites required, 100%
  • Perform physically demanding tasks and work 10-hour days (4 to 5 days per week)
  • Work in adverse field conditions including cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain
  • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities
